Some unknown person attempted to ride my bike without my permission, and as they did not possess a key they used a drill instead. This did not work, but now neither does my key. I am left with a bike I cannot start and a requirement for a replacement ignition barrel. I'm hoping someone out there has some experience in this area; the first question which comes to my mind is "Do I need to find an ignition barrel from (roughly) the same model bike, or is this a more generic part which I can purchase aftermarket off-the-shelf?"
Oh, I thought it worth noting - my bike has no steering lock. Is this normal for the 3LN ? Or perhaps has my bike been through barrel-trauma in the past?
Im not sure if a generic part will be an easy option, but in any case I have a workin 3ln-3 ignition barrel and key if you want it.
Awesome news!! That's outstanding. The bike is currently in at the shop, (a store here in Perth actually specialises in importing FZR's and other Jap bikes not sold locally via the distributor) - they said they have a few barrels but they're not very certain whether any will be suitable. Hopefully today I can get an answer out of them, and I'll get back to you as soon as I know. What would you be asking for yours? Cheers, Mike
