i have made about 700 km on my 3ln... just getting pretty comfortable with it now...

over the past few weeks, the more i ride it, the more i feel that the power curve looks like a camel's back.... i.e. a low power zone between highest peak and 2nd highest peak...

i could feel the acceleration from 8k - 12k, but when i get on the throttle after 12k... i can see the speedonmeter rise, but dont feel the g's, and then when it gets just right before 16k, all of a sudden mad power...

if i make all my shifts on the 16k spot, i only get to 3rd gear at 100km/h....

so anyone agree with me, or my bike is an odd ball? or i am an idiot who doesn't know what he is takling about~ lol

It is not uncommon to get a dead spot around the 10-12k rpm when winding on the throttle, but it should not be there. Generally its a carby related issue,e.g. float levels incorrect, float needles worn, jets worn or blocked, etc.. try running injector cleaner in the fuel tank at the recommended mix but don't put too many tankfulls through as the stuff contaminates and dilutes the engine oil. The recommended dose is usually on the bottles and the number of times to try it before changing the oil. Keep in mind the engine size compared to a car engine when working out how many tankfulls to put through. Say 2 bottles for a car then maybe half a bottle though the bike.

Some people have tried changing to a different octane fuel than they had been using and better results.

yeah, i'm speaking as i've already ran through half a bottle of Motul carb/injector cleaner (the one that's made in france) and it doesn't have any sort of mixing instruction, just tell you to put in a full bottle with a full tank ....

it increased the exhaust temperature and fuel eco from 11km/L - 16.6km/L , which i see as good... but the flat spot is still there as i posted last time... Orz...

maybe i'll just do away with the rest of the bottle and cross my finger

naw dude you should have smooth increasing power delivery thru that rev range - that's where the fun starts on my 3LN! Get her tuned up, as Dave says it'll be a carby thing. You'll appreciate the difference.
