Was the search function not working or something?

Anyway Top is main bottom is reserve left is off. You *should* use the off when ever you leave the bike sitting for a few hours, say when your home. This is because it stops leaks makes it easier to start the following day and other crap that I can't remember.

Max - you may come back from a brief vacation one day to find your tank empty and your crankcase full.

Turn your petcock off when you park it for the night. Trust me, it ain't there for pretty... <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

Don - Now that you mention that one of our members did report that exact problem some time back..

I have seen more modern bikes using a manifold vacuum operated fuel shut off valve at the tank. If the bike stops the vacuum disappears and fuel shuts off.

My bike is fuel injected and so has a hi pressure pump that stops flow when the engine is stopped.

LLTWINK - allways use "on" unless you run out of fuel, then switch to "reserve" and then get to a petrol station to refill. I guess that you will soon work it out how far you can go before you run out of petrol. 150 to 200km seems to be normal range for "on".

OK. I've taken your advice to heart. Just walked outside and switched it to "off".

...I bet I get a km down the road tomorrow morning and wonder why the bike cuts out...

^ That has happened to me before lol it took me 10 mins to figure out why the hell it died. Ah gotta love when a problem arises and you always oversee the basics.
