Hey fellas

looking at a fizzer tomorrow, 1989 2KR. Cheap as anything, yes it has issues. $650, needs rectifier and several other usual bits that cheap bikes need.Anyway I am told she is a little hard to start, but it will start with some startyabastard. When it is started, it doesnt like to rev over 6,000 revs. I have my own idea- 2 options, but I am leaning towards one. So I thought I would put it out there for the public out of interest, interested to see what people say, and it might give people a chance to have an educated guess.....- what do you think is wrong with it- why is it hard to start, and why doesnt it like to rev past 6,000 revs?

I will confirm my findings.

So- what's wrong with it??

hey brad, i'm not real good at this sorta thing but i'll give my 2 cents anyway.
now i'm assuming that to get it running u had to disconnect the reg/rec, maybe this could have something to do with the rev issues not sure.. the starting problem could be either valve timing or un nurtured carbs or both. these two things made a huge difference to the way my bike started.
any one please tell me to bugger off if i'm talking a load of shite.
sorry if i'm no help. but no worries if i am.lol.

when i got my 2kr, wouldn,t rev but would start, had been standing, took it out a few times and suddenly it went like **** off a stick, put a new fuel and air filter in, as probably had muck in the fuel, just needs carbs balancing now,
