    I'd say the gaskets are missing. I was wondering about this too. Do you
    need to order these from Yamaha? Would exhaust paste do?
    I think the gaskets are shown on page 98 of the parts list, item 19, part no. 1HX-14613-00.

    gaskets were stuck in the ports okee, so getting some hopefully in newcastle..

    I think that's where mine are too, stuck in the ports! I didn't even know what they looked like before tonight but I've looked them up on Wemoto and they're made of copper. I could see something copper in the ports but didn't know if they were part of the engine or not. Don't know what diameter the ports are though, must measure them.
