Whatever you do don't undo the little nut unless you know what your doing.

It is an adjuster to set the pressure plate lift when the clutch lever is pulled.

Also be aware that there is a single little ball bearing that sits in the centre of the clutch shaft that pushes that pin in the centre of the pressure plate that you are talking about. It can fall out and get lost easy.. It won't normaly fall out while the bike is on the sidestand but if you stand the bike up vertical, well...

OK it sounds like you have screwed it in too far. You need to loosen off the locknut and screw the adjuster out until the adjuster comes loose, then back in until it just makes semi-firm contact (with the little ball bearing). You will have to do this by feel. At this point I am not sure but it may need to then backed off slightly, say a 1/4 turn. This will be a trial and error thing. Then lock it up again.

Pull the clutch lever and watch the pressure plate make sure it lifts and seats back down. It don't move far. Make sure the lever feels "normal" and goes back to the normal rest position when released. It may make several attempts to get this right.

You may have to take it to someone with experience in these things if you can't get it right.
