There isn't going to be a whole lot that swaps over.

    Copperslip for the EXUP.

I've also looked into this due to the fact that there are no FZR250s in the US. The only things that are interchangable between the fzr400 (88-89 are the only 400s imported to the US) and the 250 is the rear disk and brake caliper, footpegs, and handlebar controls. I also belive there are a few other odds and ends, but nothing significant

didnt think alot would swap. this bike is going to be such a mission to sort! Anyway, you sure about the copperslip being ok for exup mate? I'm an oldskool suzuki guy so never run into exup stuff and only question you because while looking (to no avail) on fleabay for bits I saw some 'special' (was suspicious about this, thats why I asked) exup grease. Have bucket loads of c'slip so cool if your sure.? <!-- s:alcoholic: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_all_coholic.gif" alt=":alcoholic:" title="Alcoholic" /><!-- s:alcoholic: -->

Find the highest temp lube you can find. That'll be the only thing that works.

Copperslip is cheap and easy to come by, but alas it too will burn off over time.

I would suspect the Loctite brand "Nickel Anti-seize" would be ok too, as it is rated to around a 1000deg C

Hello. Just wondering if anyone has actually tried Nickel Antiseize. I've picked some up recently but I was a bit worried about what the exup journal bearing is made out of. Nickel seems to rate a lot higher Brindell Hardness than most steels so I was a bit worried it might screw up/scratch the bushing. Copper Slip has been pretty hard to come by (in South East QLD anyway) and it only seems to come in large containers so it'd be good if someone could confirm that I won't have problems with the Nickel Antisieze.
    Cheers!

I have used the Nickel Anti-seize but not on the EXUP. Its main use is preventing bolts from seizing when done up, particularly stainless steel, which will pickup and bind if not lubricated.

But it certainly does take the heat.

A property of dissimilar metals (hardness) is that wear is less than two metals of equal hardness. Just look at the big end bearings in the engine, steel on white metal.

My guess is that it will be ok..
