    Hi my name is Paul Smith and i've just become a member. I was wondering if anyone could help i am after a hole new after market (better looking) exhaust system as mine has a hole in and isn't very nice to look at.

    I have a 1986 fzr250 imported in 1993, i bought about 2 days ago i am loving it, its green and silver and needs some tlc. I have spent most the day riding him. Then spent the rest of the day stripping the fairing so i can attempt some repair/respray work.

    Any help would be much appreciated, any simple things to improve the bike in any way.

    Thanks Paul

    Are you sure - its only an english language thing. Other languages assign gender to objects differently, like french <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> Remember these are imported bikes.. Might call my bike BRUCE <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_roll.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling LoL" /><!-- s:roll: --> <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_roll.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling LoL" /><!-- s:roll: -->

    By the way Paul,welcome to the site <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
    If you want to get an aftermarket exhaust, try the bike shops as you only need a muffler. You won't get a new header pipes..

    Where is Wellingborough, which country???

    I'm in Wellingborough England. The system that is on the bike at present is an all in one system, so if i just bought a can, would i need to cut and weld? I was thinking if i can get a can from a similar year 400 at least that way the pipes should all head in the same direction? What do you reckon?

    My old bike (2KR) had a join just in front of the muffler, under the support bracket level with the rear brake lever.

    It was a Remus and I could remove it without too much trouble for servicing, etc.. Perhaps some of the other members could elaborate on whether there is meant to be a join on a standard system.. But it should not be too hard to cut and join a new muffler in.
