I am having problems with my bike. Ever since I laid it down its been acting wierd. It runs good at idle and low RMPs.... say up to 7000.. but the minute you wring the throttle, like open it up, the engine bogs down alot and it sort of bucks.... power-then no power-then power again... continuasly. Ive cleaned the carbs and put new spark plugs in, but I cant seem to figue out anything more. do 2kr's have fuel filters, and if so, where? I was thinking that at low revs the carbs are getting enough fuel, but at higher revs its getting starved. anyone have a problem like this before? and how did you diagnose the problem.

p.s. if anyone has a cheap parts bike in the vancouver,BC area (I know, long shot) I want to buy it.

    thanks
    Aaron.

pss... yes my spelling is bad but i dont need any grammar police thanks

i want to get a new battery, but if that isnt the problem, then I wasted 80 bucks on nothing. that actually seems to be the biggest problem period... im poking in the dark trying to figure out whats wrong with is...

Unico... thats the one in Van, right? I think someone gave me the ph# on another forum. Once I know I can pay for it, then I will take it in, right now im a bit strapped for cash.

    ok there it is

ok most bikes when being stood for a long time the fuel inside them chamges to another type of material a material that is sticky nd dirty cleaning only dont fix them coz they are semi closed fuel is not supposed to pass in big amount when u need it (at high rev) u most take off especially the tiny pessages bcoz they are the most effected one by dirts u may give them a spray at each if u saw the spray going out 100% proparly in the same pressure and amount means its opened proparly if its getting out with less pressure means the tube is semi closed iam sure thats the prob ur facing iam sure check it nd tell me

I had the same problem dude, my airbox wasnt properly sealed onto the carbs, check that its on properly and that the carbs are attached properly too.

I bought a non runner and did all of the following. Now it runs sweet.

Clean all carb jets and all passages with 100 psi air from a compressor. Take them to pieces to do this and take all of the jets, idle screw & emulsion tubes out. Check the diaphragms are intact and repair replace if split. Mind you know how to put it cack together and don't lose anything.

Check the fuel pump is stroking correctly

Check the fuel level (10.5mm above the line when fully primed but the fuel pump)

Check the EXUP operation and cable integrity

Check the coils, HT leads and primary curcuit. Also check for leaks (run in the dark and look for srcing from the leads)

Check inlet rubbers are not perished and that clips are properly tightened after properly seating the carbs.
