powdercoat frame

    anybody know how much it would cost to powdercoat a frame.

    going on how much it cost to get my front swing arms for my go kart done your probably looking at no less than $400.
    but then you also have to complitley strip the bike aswell

    I had my bike done for about $200, and yes, the frame has to be completely stripped and washed/degreased beforehand.

    Mate i'm looking to get my fighter frame coated in a few weeks so i'll let you know then. Im told the costly part is getting it bead/sand blasted, That should cost in the 120 region. But yeah you will have to strip the bike down clean and degrease very very well urself.

    yeah all tha blasting was included in the cost
    i was told alot of people try to blast it themselves thinking its going to save cash but it has to be done right before its coated and baked so its as clean as possible
    i blasted my parts first but it didnt cost (TAFE) and it didnt matter anyway

    Let them do the blasting, but you have to get all the grease and grim off first or they will not touch it. They have to make that sand (special stuff and it ain't cheap) last as long as possible. Grease on the frame will ruin the sand.

    I had to clean mine 3 times before they would take it.
