    G'day everyone,

I've been rebuilding my FZR and have come across a bit of a problem sourcing globes for it. It used to have a single H4 halogen with a fzr600 (i think) headlight. I now have the correct twin headlight but it doesn't take H4 globes, they look a little bit big. I think I may be able to get a phillips globe for it but they only come in 35w which I think will be a bit small. I plan on upgrading the wiring with a relay for each globe and would like to run at least 50/65W globes. This is the headlight I have installed.

That twin projector headlight isn't meant to take two 55/60w H4 globes; its just not designed to do it. I'm not sure if there will be any long term effects of doing as such as it's possible the plastic housing to the headlight may detereorate.
Unfortunately i've never had one of those twin projector setups to play with so i can't be more specific about a conversion or something.

there is a place where i live (albury wodonga) that has a data base of all yamaha bikes and parts they take. you may find help at a place like that as they have contacts in japan and could have the proper globes in the country within the week. i guess you would just need the part number of the light assembly you have put on your bike and the may be able to help you. write back if you would like to know more. cheers.

Thanks for the replies. I think it had 45w/50w or something like that stamped underneath so I thought it would be able to take something a little bit higher than that but might be better off keeping it low just to be sure, the last headlight had 55w and was fine also. Hptk I'll try up here in brisbane first mate, cheers. Hopefully someone here will have the same light and can tell me a little more. The hole in the back is definitely too small to take the H4 type of halogen.

I have the same projector headlight b4, this is not H1 to H7, I can t found that in all the Australia car accessary dealer, such as Repco, Autobarn, Kmart, even my mechanic workshop. But someone said that is only available in Japna. Cant found in Australia. He can import a pair for me, but cost AUD$80... <!-- s:-? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_Eyecrazy.gif" alt=":-?" title="Eye Crazy" /><!-- s:-? -->

Finally, I did cut all the wiring and change a pair of H4 white Xenon globes. actually thie size is a bit bigger than original, but can use some steel wire to hold the globe. But make sure yr battery life still good, and the recharge system is good too. (But I haven't got any starting problem since I changed the 12V 100W new globes)

It looks very cool at night, but the high beam direction is not correct by using H4. due to the twin focus condensing lens, the angle is not match the structure of H4.
