Does it sound like it could be a cable rattling? It's probably your exup valve cables, they need adjusting. Quite easy, there's a how-to on it on this forum.

A hissing sound at 5000-6000rpm... at that rpm it might be just induction noise from the airbox.
Has the performance of the bike changed at all since the hissing noise started?
I know it might be difficult to tell, but is it an induction noise or an exhaust noise? (Air box leak? Carb boot air leak?)

ha ha ha thanks guys. yeah just runs at that speed. just wanted to make sure it wasnt something thats gunna kill the bike or something drastic like that.

kinda sounds like it may be coming from the airbox but i cant really tell for sure.

Hey, I'm prety much a newbie, but I was getting a real hissing around the same rev range, especially under load/ uphill, after replacing the seals in the air box, and got a full seal on the carby it completely eliminated that particular noise...

now I just gotta work on the rest of them.... lol
