Hey fellas how you'll going...I hope everyone is doin ok...I was doing some checks on my controls and stuff and i noticed the connection that connects the throttle cable(its an L-shaped piece that connects to a plastic screw thatyou can disconnect) is cracked...Is that an easily replacable part coz its shaking and might break off any time

Okkk...this is the 1st time i havent gotten a response to a subject... I talked to a mechanic though an he told me that i cant get the connection by itself, I have to buy a whole new throttle cable... Is that hard to come across??? Do throttle cables vary from bike to bike???

I'm actually not sure what part you are talking about - are you meaning near the right handlebar?

As for throttle cables - they do vary. I would suggest going to a wreckers and seeing if they have the part you are after. Chances are they do (as I have never heard of this problem) and you should be able to just get the one piece.

yeah you have to get a whole new throttle cable. They're pretty cheap though (like $15 - $20 [or at least clutch cables are]). Buy it soon. If the cable snaps then you won't be able to ride your bike until you replace it, and that sucks if you're on the way to work at the time <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

Mine (throttle cable) snapped last Saturday (April 8) and I am now looking for a replacement. Anobody who can give me a part no? Also I just found out that it was already repaired on the carburetor end as the holding end was built up with brass already. Now it's the other end that has snapped.

My bike is a 2KR (pre-exup). I looked for a similar throttle cable and the nearest I could find here in the Philippines is for a Honda TMX155. I guess it's only an imitation of the original Honda part that's why it's very cheap (equivalent to about US$0.80). I guess I'll just have it modified and also have the original redone in case it snaps again. Will still look for an original replacement though.
