I am trying to find the part numbers for a complete gasket kit and the piston rings for an '88 2KR. Any suggestions where I might find those? In the alternative, does anyone have access to these numbers? If so, please forward them to me. I have a complete kit coming for my 1000 and I can tell you everything that is in, it if it'll help any. I "should" have it by the end of the week. Or TBone may be able to tell you. Come to think of it, I think someone did a rebuild on here just recently.
Forget about piston rings... you can not get them as Yamaha stoped supporting these parts!! I know for a fact that the pistons for the 3LN are different than the Zeal which Yamaha does support... Try aftermarket suppliers but I think they do not make them eather... As for other gaskets... easy.. there are after market ones as well as Yamaha... part numbers should be thesame as 2KR 3LN and Zeal
I wish I had a Zeal parts book... but b/w the 2kr and the 3ln there is not much diffeence in the engines... but the carbs are compleatly different... the Zeal engine... is SO different... I have not seen the internal parts but I have heard many mechs odering Zeal parts (as they are supported by Yamaha) and thinking they will fit in the FZR... Nope.. different cluch... different pistons, piston rings, conrods, camrods, crankshaft...
