heres some pics of my new bike, she was dropped by the previous owner and repainted, wot does everyone think, should i get some decals made up or leave it as it is?
i think it looks great as it is... but if youre planning on selling it down the track, i reckon go original stickers... if you can find them... i think itll hold its value better if it still has original decal simon
I reckon most new buyers of a learner legal bike wouldn't even know what the original stickers look like, so I don't think that's an issue. A few stickers definately make the bike a bit more interesting. in particular i'd throw a thick plastic tank protector on, and a sticker saying "FZR" on both sides of the front fairings. A yamaha sticker would go down well, too. Maybe on the sides of the tank or on the front above the headlight. I agree with fizzer dude... White or silver would look tight.
When I say something simple, I'm talking something like this.... Sorry to have messed with your bike...
Ok, here's a couple of 'chops to see what you like. I think i prefer the white stickers on that colour blue... just seems to go well. First up... the 'DevilMann 69' special. Next up.. and my favourite... the Yamaha special. Either way, i really like the little Yamaha tuning forks on the tank... oozes appeal IMO. The FZR is kinda mandatory, and keeping it in that kinda font keeps the heritage. I have a thing for the massive Yamaha tuning forks down the side but i've never had a chance to put them on my bike. If/when my baby gets her respray i'll probably end up doing some extensive chrome decals.
I like Koma's second chop. Definitely go with something along those lines
looking at those pics, i think i will get some decals made up. i think it really adds to the bike, makes it look more animated, if you know wot i mean. thanks for your two cents everyone, any more suggestions/opinions will be helpful
Hehe, yeah i intentionally put the FZR250.COM sticker on there... i was wondering how many people would notice it. Silver tribal is a little bit over done... that said there's an awful lot of 'tribal' designs that do look hawt. I prefer the tech-tribal designs... or something a little less cliche.
I think I'm bored. For those who want to try at home: Photoshop away!!! This is why me and photoshop should stary 300metres apart... I can't stop myself, even though I'm crap. <Removed due to space constraints.. Aww> Yeah I'm aware they aren't great, but I thought I'd just screw around and see what happens. TA-DAA! EDIT: Just to protect my ego, they were only thrown together in 30 mins or so.. Most of that time spent clearing the background. Botched up the rear wheel.
I'll use the words interesting to descibe the designs... A printer would use the words 'FOOKIN NIGHTMARE' to describe them. ... and what's with the 'Fire' on the tank? I don't think that's a good place for fire!!!
Interesting describes me XD Don't worry, I put actual effort into some of my photoshop work. I thought the fire symbol was allright, plus I was short of actual ideas. I'd describe the designs as 'colour vomit' - I just threw stuff on it and mixed. My somewhat old, actual art is located at timbus.deviantart.com if you so feel the need to look. I'm a bit over deviantart.. I just make desktops for myself now. EDIT: After looking at the first design, I reconsider.. I'd totally ride that. But replace the fire symbol with some more blue flame, and chuck an FZR sign on somewhere.
