    Hi

I just finished get rust out of my tank this weekend and I got the bike going again

and then I took it out today and the rev meter is showing incorrect reading

It seems like it is about showing double what the actual revs are..
Because there is no way I am doing like 20kmh in 1st with 16k revs :S or somethign like that

anyone got any ideas what might be causing this

    thanks

:update it appears to have come right

Check all the connections on the back of the instrument cluster. If i recall a ZZR had a similar problem and it just turned out to be a loose cable. Oddly enough, it too was reading exactly double what it should have!

Had the same indication on my rev meter but did not pay attention to it as I was preoccupied with having difficulty in starting my bike. I already know the problem with the hard starts is a weak battery so I have cables on hand to have it connected with the first available car that comes near. Aside from hard starts, I also experienced running rich at low speeds and engine going wild even if I already turned the accelerator to low.

Finally, I found a battery of the same specs in one of the auto-suppliers here. When I used the new battery, all the problems above disappeared. Could it be that all the problems I've been experiencing was due to the weak battery?

It seems that its a dry joint inside the Rev counter.. cause I checked the connections on the back of it and they are fine.. but if its showing wrong It fixed itself by banging it lol

so Ill have to take a look inside it sometime or somethign
