I think it's more a matter of how many people have been drunk enough to listen to the old guys in the pub... or that relative who won't leave you alone. Of my few Irish friends - i'd say perhaps half of them knew more than 10 words. That said... 'Póg mo thóin' seems to be a popular phrase even for those who don't know gaelic. I'll leave the translation (and correct pronunciation of that one for another night).

Hahah yeah you are probably right. I come from an Irish upbringing and can see how that would be a strong possibility. I don’t know much gaelic myself but enough to understand the last phrase. <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_roll.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling LoL" /><!-- s:roll: --> My name is also of gaelic origin not exactly sure what it means though, but it does explain the strange pronunciation.

For those that need a hint as to the meaning of my last little catch phrase... it's been accepted as a popular pub's name (chain of pubs actually) around Melbourne, and maybe other cities.
