Hi all

Just like to start by saying well done on such an informative site, no really you have no idea, ive been a fizzer owner for 3 years and only found out about and joined this forum early this month. In that time i have learned more about my bike in those three weeks than i have in the 3 years b4 i joined. Seeing that its hard to get info on my bike being an 1988 2kr fzr (no exup) with 48k ive only ever come across 2 other identical 1 waiting at doin bikes in livo to be fixed (insurence) and the other on bikepicks.com mine is all black metalic with gold rims ill post a pic when i can upload 1. I have tried to think of a question to post but i run it through search first to see if its been covered, and most the time it has. So other than that thanks again and im sure if we put all our knowledge together there wouldnt be much we couldnt figure out (this forum will now be my bible lol ) After reading through a few posts ive]

*Flushed my radiator
*cleaned my Air filter (never new it had 1 till b4 joining)
*taken off all fairings and started to prep for painting
*taken off fuel tank to clean right out, being full of ****

Next i have to change fork seals as i had an accident in george street about a month ago, i was cruising along doing 50ks when a girl (Allison) ran out from behind a bus mind you 2-3 meters infront i had a little time to brake but still hit at about 40ks, at first i thought she was dead but luckily she was ok for a split second i knew the feeling people have when they have ran over and killed som1 (there fault or not) by the way she was drunk i had the green 5/5 witnesses on my side even she admited it was her fault but the police were trying pretty hard to find somthing to make it my fault. Just wandering if any1 else has had this sort of anti biker atitude before, as i was pretty taken aback by it. In the end they accepted it was her fault and told us both that she was liable for the cost to fix the bike, even though i couldnt get to work as a resault of it i think it would be slack to make her pay for the damage ie; bent forks, bent subframe and smashed uper fairing. every1 tells me ''im mad i should make her pay coz what if i had killed her id have to live with that, and that she should be taught a leson''. if any1 has and advise id be glad to hear it as im a little conflicted. thanks again

Wow what a story. I have never heard of a bike hitting a pedestrian before. I remember someone on here hitting a cat though.

As for the anti biker sentiment I have only ever encountered it with the police. Most people don’t think twice if you ride a bike as far as I know, well they seem to dive like they do anyway.

I would be going for at least half of the repair bill, that kind of damage is going to really add up $$$$, I know you feel bad but you shouldn’t have to pay. Good luck with sorting it out.

Oh and welcome to the site.

Welcome to the site. A very interesting read.

If a pedestrian did that much damage to the bike. How did the pedestrian come out of that one.

I haven't come up against that sort of anti motorbike thing yet but then I am still only on my L's.

I would have said make her pay for it. But you are a nicer guy than what I am.

welcome muroc,

personally, I'd take the option that would get the bike back on the road quickest. unless that involved me paying for it all.... then maybe not.

Glad to hear there was minimal damage to both you and her

as far as the anti-bike attitude goes, i've only had that from a few drivers who tried to side swipe me or got pissed off when I was splittin past them while they've been sitting in peak hour traffic for who knows how long

Had one incident where my step bro and I were riding, we misjudged a corner both went wide, because I was in front i was able to miss the oncoming car and he got collected but came out uncannily unscathed with minimal damage to the bike and car too. the cagers called the ambo's and cops, they didn't give us any anti-biker attitude, in fact they were really understandin.. probably because they were motorcyclists themselves.. .... sorry if I've hijacked the thread

Hey mate, welcome.
So this chick? Bit on the large side was she???
Any bird that can bend bike forks with her legs, needs to be given a wide berth especially when she's drunk. Sh!t, imagine taking that home after a night out????
Still, bit rude not even offering to blow you off though.
God's speed to you young man.

Hi how are you all?

First off thanks for all your replies, it has helped me out alot in trying to
decide what to do. I just hope i can be as much help when any of you need a hand. Again top site dont you think as i said ive been in the dark for 3 years lol

She actually cam out fine exept for a cut on her head, what actually freaked me out was she was lying there unconsience for 5 or so minutes, that not being the weired part the weired part was that her eyes were open, thats what made me think she was dead. So as you see her being alive was all the compansation i needed at that time, but as time gose on
and fizzer still not running, tends to push me more towards asking for somthing, as Ciaran mentioned maybe %50 isnt that unreasonable.
Seeing that we both have eachothers details, i emailed her the next day
to see if she was ok and i got no reply.

Actually no she was quite thin and atractive lol
so you see the dilema.

Ps. Thats gold mate a "blow job" tempted, at the time it would
be great, but but in the morning id wake up and theres still a f#$@ed bike. Good sugestion all the same lol

****! you were both quiet lucky ecspecialy your step bro.
Things like that i recon are a good thing as long as you dont get hurt, ive learnt alot about me and my bike from experiances like that (ie; close calls) but still wouldnt recomend. lol

Again thank you all again and im gona have a look around the forum tommorrow and see if i can contribute. Till then take it easy

Koma edit: Just fixed up all those quotes for you. For future reference, after the quote you need to close the 'quote' tags by using [ /quote ]

This thread sadly reminds me of a fatal accident about 10 or more years ago involving a friend of mine's wife and her mother.

They were hit by a motorcyclist in the town centre and the mother died and my friends wife was hospitalised for quite a while and has since made a reasonably full recovery.

From what I can remember the motorcyclist had been doing laps around the main block and little BURSTS of speed . Can't recall any more than that.

Town centres are not the place for speeding.
