Just giving a quick shout out to everyone, after picking up some plugs on the weekend i was rather surprised to get them cheap from of all places; Autobarn! NGK CR8E plugs are the standard plugs for FZR250's incase you didnt know.

I'm not sure if it's the new pricing scheme (supposedly they dropped in price a bit), but for $3.99 a piece ($16 full set! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->) it's definitely worth replacing those plugs if you havent done so recently. Last time i paid ~$7.50 a piece from Action Motorcycles on Racecourse Rd, and that was the going rate for them.

I was going to buy a couple of sets at that price, but the store only had 4 left. (Thankful they had 4! It was sunday).

I've bought cr8e's from Central Motorcycles (Huntingdale) and Redwing Honda (Heidelberg) and both times I paid $18 a set - so not as cheap as what you paid, but much better than Action Motorcycles (and one wonders why they are now closed in Melbourne...). I called ahead both times to see if they had them, and the cost.

I also bought cr9e plugs recently from Redwing Honda - $18 a set again...

You guys obviously weren't riding when the CR%E were between $15-$25 a PLUG. There were only 2 alternatives being NGK and Denso (can't remember the Denso code) both priced the same and only available from bike shops. Pricing then dropped in late 2002 to $5-$6 and since then haven't bought a set so really wouldn't know. Good to see an Autoparts shop jumping on the bandwagon. Hopefully in the not too distant future we will have the options available that the American riders have in which they can go to WalMart and get everything for a service off the shelf. Whenever I need oil etc I always make sure to go to the local Autopart and make a big deal outta the fact they don't much of a range to motorcyclist.

I was - but I would have bought my first set of plugs from Central Motorcycles sometime mid to end of 2002. I guess it was shortly after the price drop.

    I doubt.
Autobarn is like a consumer oriented automotive accesories store, so each of the stores are individually owned. Surely buying plugs somewhere locally would be cheaper than getting them in from Australia.
