    I have those 4 rubber mainfolds running out of the carbies into the engine cracked in a few spots. The bike is runnig fine though, should i bother with replacing them? If so where do i get the parts from?? my local yamaha dealer laughed at me for about 5 min and then said "we dont deal with the imports"...bastard, oh I'm in Perth

    As i understand these mainfolds pass the air/fuel mixture to the engine. If the bike is running fine then obviously there is no holes in them...but still the cracks could/will develop.

    I got mine from the local Yamaha dealer due to a lack of decent ones in the wreaking yard. They will cost ya if you want them so make sure this is what you’re after. I was quoted $45 a bit new but haggled them down to $35 because I was getting some other stuff at the time. Check for ones at the wreakers in decent condition and it will save yourself a bit of cash. As for those dealers, if they supply Yamaha genuine parts tell them to get off their arse and look at the damn computer, the fzr 2kr and 3ln are listed.

    I replaced mine on the 2kr because they did have large cracks in them, and was effecting performance. I think I paid 100 dollars for 4 in very good cond from wreckers. Im sure you could even find some rubber adhesive that would fill over the cracks if you wanted to?

    If anyone comes across some more if these intake boots, please let me know. The ones on my 2KR are horribly dry rotted and covered with a great deal of silicone sealant.

    Thanks,
    Scotty

    Seems to be a greater problem on the 2kr's. I guess because they are a few years older, and the fact that the rubbers are nearly twice as long as the 3ln ones.

    That's funny, most of the time the rubbers I need are only half as long. <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_roll.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling LoL" /><!-- s:roll: -->
