Hello to you!! im an irish dude hoping to lay my hands on an fzr for my 21st birthday this may. im currently riding a yamaha TDR 125 powervalve, and its a really cool bike, good lookin, fast enough and fairly cheap to run and insure, but its time to move on as my insurance takes a healthy drop at 21. i've spotted a mint cond. '92 in a dublin bike shop but as is the case with most 250 sports bikes in ireland, the asking price is obscene. he's asking €3200 which i think is close enough to 6k oz dollars. its to do with the bike licensing laws over here, for the first two years after you pass the test, you are restricted to 33bhp/40kw or 0.16 kw/kg. the fzr is above both of these limits but for some reason you can get insured on one anyway. im lookin forward to poking fun at the local honda civic boy racers who think that 8000rpm is a high redline!!

i might try and post a few pics of my tdr before i sell it as ill be sad to see it go!!

OMG! that price would be insane in australia! Wonder why they cost so much over there. I guess its supply and demand. Have you had a look at how much they generally are?
    i paid $2300 for mine.

welcome to the forums! And you will enjoy the fzr250, and the little civics will be left behind quite quickly with the fzr. Let us know what you end up doing!
