i noticed recently that i have some black gunk coming out of behind the gear selector mechanism... it was dripping down under the bike ... so i took off the front sprocket cover and its real dirty in there... i can only assume that the gunk is a mixture of oil and dirt from a leak around where the front sprocket attaches but im not totally sure.... <!-- s:???: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":???:" title="Confused" /><!-- s:???: --> has anyone else had this problem? is there perhaps a seal that i can replace (where the front sprocket is) to stop the leak? cheers all simon
that happens to me. its a hard gunk. dirt from roads plus some oil that condensed. I cleaned the hard black gunk, inspected the front sprocket but no leak..i think its natural. coz after cleaning it and drove it abt 200kms and inspect it again..ders no sign of leak. I suggest that u inspect it once in a while and check ur oil level.
ahhh excellent... it is hard black gunk as you say... not like normal oil leaks... and my oil level hasnt seemed to have moved so most likely it isnt a leak and is just chain lube... so just clean it and keep an eye on it... no need to change anything just as yet... thanks fellas... simon
