Headlight adjustments

not so sure about measurements, but why dun u get your bike onto and enpty street and adjust your lights like that ? to your own liking

i dont know the exact measurements, but i know from my old job, working in a mechanic workshop (briefly) and helping with pink slips that vehicles (or at least cars) have to have their headlights adjusted within certain measurements to be compliant.
To measure this they use a board that is set up a certain distance from the front of the vehicle and then the low and high beams are turned on, to pass, the beams of the lights must be within the boundarys on the board.

dont know if this applies to motorbikes though, if it does, then my bike is screwed! <!-- s:o --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_surprised.gif" alt=":o" title="Surprised" /><!-- s:o -->

oh and by the way, in the 9 months i was working there i never seen it used once, it just sat in the corner and gathered dust, as it does in most inspection stations i'm told... <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

 

I use the line the bike up and on low beam.. adjust it on a wall 2 meters away down on a 10% angle.. it puts the top of the light on low beam at about 35 meters ahead of you.. but thats how i do it.. but i think i have read somewhere that in qld the light must not point any higher then 1 meter on a wall 2 meters away.. but i could be wrong

 

hey Dean, even though your front end is slightly diff to mine. How did you adjust your headlights, i assume it would be similar. did you have to remove the front fairing?
