Hello all, I have just purchased a 3LN-22, 1HX engined FZR. I think that it is of 1990-1991 vintage. I honestly do not know, the owner had no real idea and I am now trying to locate a parts source. If anyone here has contact information for a parts seller in Australia, or the UK that would be great. I live in the United States and none of the dealers will source parts for this grey market bike. It is getting frustrating not being able to ride my new toy. I took it out for a short ride, but the carbs and the Exup Valve needed some attention and during this process I broke one of the carburetor slides and cannot get a replacement. I would also like to get other service items such as tappet cover gaskets and a valve shim kit. Thnaks for everyones help. I have enjoyed reading through the site and absorbing all of the information.

A whole shim kit can be very expensive..In melbourne they want up to 12 dollars per shim...so ur looking at nearly 100 dollars! What I did was worked out the clearance of my valves..and I found the shims I had where all too big...so I just spent some time sanding them down to the correct size that would give me the right valve clearance...worked a treat and saved me 80 bucks.

from my understanding the yamaha zeal (fzx) actually uses the same engine as the fzr250, though detuned. You may be able to share some parts with that.

Hi guys.. I just went a looked at the link from earlier this thread back to the bike parts. I live about 3 min away from the import centre and the Qld motorcycle wreckers in Moss St Brisbane. They are good guys. I got a few bits for my FZR from them..
Last time i talked to the guy at the wreckers he had a rear seat cowl for the FZR, that was a couple of months ago, he may or may not still have it..

If they have something u guys want checked out, email me tanya_and_bear@hotmail.com and i can go look if you like, no probs.
