I bought a fzr 250 3ln1 about 2 weeks ago, mad fun its a great bike. Just a quick question, after i stopped at a shop, got back on to the bike and turned the key, the servo motor started making an unusual clicking noise and lasted longer than usual, the bike started fine and on my way home at a set of traffic lights it died and would not start again. . it suddenly came to me, it felt like it had run out of petrol, so i switched it to reserve and it started no problem , the unusual sound was back to normal so i filled it up with petrol and everything has been fine since. Just wanted to know was this normal for the bike to make this sound?? Sorry about the essay and thanks for the website guys its great help!!

Wahoo a question i can answer.....

    Ok

The clicking noise is actually the fuel pump and not the servo for the exup valve. The clicking occurs when there is no fuel for the pump to suck and then push into the carbs. I guess the clicking is just the diaphram just tapping against the case instead of pushing fuel as per normal.

You probably found that putting the bike on reserve and when you filled up the clicking noise went away......

The Servo makes a more whining noise, and should only operate once i beleive when you switch the ignition on.

Good man for buying an FZR!!

    cheers

    Gaz

thanks gazmidas, i always thought the noise was the servo motor, the clicking noise went away as soon as i started it in reserve
