    I have no idea what they are off but they are alloy and look like the same angle as on an FZR.

    my clips on's arrived in the mail so i proceeded to strip down the front of th bike to put them on and errrrmmmm started cleaning off the half ton of sand from my low side haha.

    done the same yesterday, once it hits 150 it really starts struggling and i have to hug the bike for it to keep going.

    Changed the trans oil in the aprilia and topped up the 2 stroke oil with castrol tts

    Out today with a couple of learner friends for a 70Km run. I don't know it all, just trying to pass on some things I had to learn the hard way and maybe keep them alive.

    Spent about 5 hours today carefully cleaning the grimy and battered plastic chrome and polishing these original units from the '78 SST. These are CEV indicators - same lights used on the Ducatis / Moto Guzzis and Benellis. AMF-HD used them also. They are about $150 :( a set new, if you can find them. Well pleased with the results....

    Picked up another CB250RS from a place 2 hours down the highway. This one's red! :D

    It's been rainy and miserable here this afternoon so no other work on the bikes today. I need a proper bike shed!

    Thanks. The Triumph units were Lucas IIRC? - both the CEV and Lucas are very similar. There are pattern Lucas units available for low $ (which I was considering if the CEVs were too crappy to fix) as there are very few CEVs available and practically nobody making patterns. The chrome back section is 'chrome' plastic and pretty fragile.

    I have a pattern CEV 9350 taillight from Taiwan - much cheaper (looks it, too) than the original CEV 9350, but the Ducati boys are willing to spend big $$ for the originals. I stripped my pattern CEV and sprayed shot it with 'chrome' paint and lacquer' Looks pretty good at 1/4 the cost of a new one :). Will post pics later.

    Yea Lucas sounds right ...I think everything was Lucas on the old British ..... yea mine are a little battered ..... just a bit more patina to match the rest of the bike :D

    That is a very sweet Bonnie:thumb_ups:. I always wanted a '70s (Tri) Bonnie or (BSA) Lightning , but being terminally short of cash when it mattered did not allow it to eventuate.

    At the time as a compromise at UWA in 1984, I had a '78 Yam SR500 (cast wheels and rear disc). Still one of my favourite bikes to this day:).
