Nice one Cal. Went for a good run on Zxr today. Runs smooth with what seems a better spread of power since taking air mix out to 3.25 turns. Hitting 13000 with little difficulty, although happiest coasting along at 10000. Noticed that trying to give full throttle is more limiting than giving just 5/6 throttle so maybe over fuelling at full throttle. Next step will be seeing what effect baffle removal has on running.........and if makes no difference then seeing what taking air mix out to 4 turns does for running......must look a plug condition too! Really enjoying trial and error approach to tuning. I won't be sandblasting or pipe changing mind you... Fuel system is in good nick as tank cleaned out, carbs cleaned through and all vac hoses leak sealed. Ringing a man about in frame cam chain replacement tomoz.
Hey cal FYI he said 14 km per litre of fuel, so it is running at about 7L per 100km also that's abit high for a 250 mines running 5.4L per 100km
I feel like I should be worried about my bike with all the consumption figures on here, I get 3.5L/100km I get 5L on a bike with 3x the displacement! Must be riding style?!
Similar figures! Except I barely used to get above 10k except on highways Exhaust being too loud is a factor in that haha!
Well I didn't expect that........ I thought taking out Mr Baffle from the can would increase flow and lean out my mixture a bit. Didn't get much chance to find out as all low range power and torque evaporates without it in. Baffle back in as my ears hurt too much as well. Plug colour by the way is light grey/brown which seems ok. I think I will spend the next few weeks just riding.
not enough back-pressure it seems, interesting.. bigger jets then re setting the pilot screw mix could also be intersting
