thats why i was just going to try and run a pod filter on it but need to know best size to use and length of the pod filter to use and with re jetting would i need bigger or smaller i checked the spark plugs the other day the front plug looked fine looked abit grey but back plug was black so is that the cause of the airbox causing it too run rich on 2 cylinder rides fine below 40 but over runs like **** got that bad the other day that even the kill switch turned off in this photo does the exhaust looked moddifyed as i am not too sure with these bikes
1; fit the biggest filter you can fit into the space available. Bigger filter has more surface area and will allow more air to flow to your carbs with less turbulence, thereby upsetting the carburation even less. Carbs love to 'suck' from still air so the airflow over the jets is constant and can be regulated better. (There is a formula for working out the air flow of filters.) 2; those bits of muffler pipe attached to the header pipes are nothing to do with mufflers, just noise makers. Some people get sucked into the 'louder is faster' bullshit, but as you have found it upsets the carburation and runs like crap. My suggestions to you are to get original type mufflers fitted and the biggest pod filter you can and get it professionally tuned. Will run nice and be economical.
Have got the air box will put that on tommorow what does it mean when the front cylinder is a white colour on the spark plug and the back cylinder is black I know it means running rich so would the air filter be the only thing causing this ? And how do I fix it if the air filter is not the problem I spoke too the old owner he reckons it used to play up at 7 7500 revs
will try that am abit confused where it comes to setting the float levels i read a forum about it but not sure weather to turn them up side down and set i need to set the too 17 mm but is that with the float arm extended or upside down when the float sits normaly
ok got the bike running i had to move the coil packs out of the way and turns out i had them around the wrong way lol i set the floats to 17mm as said in the book but the only way i could set it too 17 mm was when the floats were fully extended if i had it upside down and set it i wouldnt of got the fuel bowls back on runs a bit better than before had too adjust the air fuel mixture aswell pretty sure someone has played with it before going to have a play around with the exhausts tommorow see what i can do would love to make the 2 pipes go into 1 single would be good but i am not good enough too do it thinking of making it into a bobber would be different and thinking of modifying the air intake too run pods thinking of running 2 into 1 pod filter setup would look good but not sure if i need to rejet the carby to do that or not need some help
Any decent exhaust shop should be able to make the two pipes into a single outlet, then just fit whatever muffler you wish.
may be easier then having 2 seperate pipes lol just found out today when i took the chrome covers off the exhaust the dump pipes aint even connected properly they are holding on by a star screw not even welded both pipes so that would be where i am losing my power from if the dump pipes were welded off properly then it may run abit smoother with any luck i have the standard exhaust i am working on modifying taking the baffle out too give it more sound see how i go they standard stock exhaust weighs a ton lol
does anyone know where i can get a jet kit from for hyosung gv 250 had a look on ebay found some kits for 50 in america but am not paying 85 dollars to get it shipped to australia
Message the seller and ask for a realistic price for the shipping .... sometimes ebay shows stupid shipping and freight Jets are obviously small and light so should be minimum cost
thanks mate will have a look tryed my local dealer he said try ebay they are hopeless they cant even find the right part for me as it is lol i orded and air fuel needle still havent got the right part yet
If your local dealer is that bad/hopeless, I would be emailing the importer and complaining. If you don't wish to do that, what about another dealer somewhere else?
Got just about everything done to the hyosung so far found a elbow for the air box put that back on seems to be running well so far new tyres just finished painting it been a good project so far After a wash and Polish come up well
ok so i have another question i dont know if anyone can help me with the rules and regulations or not in tasmania just want to know if you can leaglly put a jockey shifter on a cruiser bike or is it illeagle ? i want t do it too my bike but want to find out first the transport guy is not in till monday so thought i would see if anyone else knew i cant even find the rules and regulations on it on google for tassie
No idea mate. Cannot see why it would be a problem as old bikes had them and I doubt that anybody has bothered to change the laws.
