Yea its nothing too bad so far ....
and it sounds like it has a good exhaust :D

I did get the cap open .... it was just needing a bit of slippery stuff in the workings ...... tank looks reasonable inside.

Havnt tried a start up yet .... trying to recharge a batt and Ill have to get some new fuel .

And when I turned on the tap, fuel pissed out from under it somewhere.

The one thing I am liking is the seat .... so much more to it compared to the Fizz...... and the front forks leave the FZR for dead also ..... 3 sets of adjusters ? .... woo hoo !

But Id have to say those air tubes being where they are is , to be polite, very ordinary ..... think Ill have to do some re engineering there.

Glad you got the tank open, a good start. From your photo's most seem to be cosmetic things. One thing you will find is the carburation on this bike is far easier and much more simplistic than the fzr. Have a funny feeling you might come to enjoy this bike, they go well, handling is good and performance is nothing to sneeze at, they go hard.
Have a feeling that this bike will be on the road sooner rather than later. :thumb_ups:

Im going to ditch the "Lost in Space" air pipes entirely , and cut off the extrusions on the tank and fill them in before the tank is eventually painted.

The small bit Ive read is that they pretty much do very little ..... supposedly "cool" the VRR :idk:

Any thoughts from the ZXR fan club ? :D

Even if you undo those hex bolts, you'll still need to turn the barrel for it to come away from the tank.

They can get pretty stiff. Keep dousing it with lube.

*pro tip: If you're going to use a tank corrosion remover and sealer product, don't paint the sealer on the lock-mechanism-tab.

Try some A model ones, its heaps cheaper than the alternative. Tyga do make a tank cover if you want to cut the tabs off

Have a read of my thread "My Fizzer" ..... the only way to clean a cruddy bike properly is to pull it apart.

And sit down with a packed lunch and plenty of fluids before u start reading :lolsign:

Good pickup. Hours of fun coming your way. Compression test that engine before you do anything.

Try Bearfast for that hose, or what about clark rubber for some pool cleaner hose?
