I got the swingarm off my MC19 today which is as far as I'm going to go for the time being. I should get parts back from my painter next week so the bike will start going back together soon. I did find my first eyebrow raiser when I took a look at the chain slider. This doesn't look too stock to me. Lots of zip ties and weird hardware in there. I'm going to shop around and see if I can find a new one somewhere. If not I think I can hack something better together. Anyone have a picture of what it's supposed to look like?
Part number 52170KY1000, you might find something on ebay. CMSNL is out of stock and I don't think xcitebikes.com.au stocks them either. They have MC22 ones though I doubt it'll fit. Wreckers?
I was actually able to source one from a place here in the states. It’s the right part number so it must have cross listed with something that was sold here. The part has been shipped so fingers crossed it’s the right thing.
Well that was too good to be true. I got a chain slider quick, fast and in a hurry but it's not the right one. Looks like it's for an XR. I'll run it up to the shop tomorrow and see if I can make it work, if not I'll look around a little more or just make one.
I can probably whip something temporary up out of UHMW. I’ve got more than half of the old one so if I get really bored I might CAD one up and see if I can get it 3D printed out of nylon 12.
Thread resurection. Ordered this from AliExpress. 10 days from when I placed the order to it being delivered. It looks right but I won't know for sure until I install it. Might be a little while as I have some other projects running at the moment, but I'm pretty pleased at the moment. This was the last bit on my bike that was still sketchy.
all installed and everything looks good. Sort of annoying to take half of the bike apart and have no real visual difference when it's done, but I guess I have the satisfaction of knowing that it's right now.
my general approach is pull the bike half apart but only put 1/4 back on. "well, i left the fairings off as i wanted to tweak the carbs later on then the fuel filter arrived and i changed that and well... theres too many screws..."
