Morning all, As its the holidays I'm relaxing at a spot a few hours away from my workshop.......and using the time wisely to plan for next year. On the GJ72A front, I was contemplating doing a modded "Street Fighter" style bike as some of the fairings are not at their best. However, here on the forum (somewhere) I came across a comment saying they are now quite rare? Here in NZ I only ever saw them in the Black/Gold scheme, but then a workmate showed me a pic of his 2 tone Blue model that he used to fold himself into when he was younger (hes over 6'). So I'm now torn; Am I duty bound to return the bike to its original condition? Can I at least play with the scheme and do the White/Red scheme that looks like it was only in overseas markets? Or do I just say "Sod You All" and go nuts with the carbon fibre and kevlar? Would love for an expert to chime in here.... Evan.
The 'streetfighter' just looks ugly (imo) compared to an original naked bike but so long as no tabs are cut off the frame so it can be returned to original then go ahead. Remember also that an original standard bike will be worth more if you wish to sell. It is your bike to do with as you wish, so go ahead.
I’m no expert, but I agree with what has been said regarding leaving all frame tabs intact if you wish to sell further down the track. But it is your bike after all.
