Hi Guys, I have been encouraged by @Frankster to do a bit of a write up on some recent track day experiences. WARNING - stop reading now if you are only interested in 250s. I went to Broadford recently with my son to help shake down some changes he had made to his oldskool Suzuki GSXR750. She is a great old girl. Started life as a run down 1989 oil cooled short stroke road bike and converted to a track bike with many little improvements over the years. The most recent changes being the addition of a nice shinny set of RS38 carbs and multiple oil coolers. Unfortunately when we ran it Broadford in October it sprang a bit of an oil leak, which didn't go down well with the other competitors and abruptly ended our day. So back at the track last weekend and she was going really well. Plenty of poke on the straights allowed her to blow past a number of the more modern machines. A good day out for us. I had a bit of a sticky nose around the pits and spied some interesting machinery, which I thought I would share. A 2019 Ducati Panigale V4R. 235bhp if you must. The owner spoke of an update to the latest version with an extra 6 bhp. All a bit too much power for an old fart like me to even contemplate. A very rare (only one in Aus) Kramer SuperMono machine out for an initial track shakedown. A recently completed (COVID project) RGV250 track bike. Nice. and a cute little historic Yamaha oil burner sporting a 175cc top end. It was being punted around by a young girl. I liked her tale about her leathers that she purchased in black and white. She then painstakingly colour filled most of the white bits using $20 worth of pink Texta colour markers. In honesty, if you hadn't been told about the hand colouring, you would never have known. She looked smart and matched her handgrips.
