Not sure if I have posted this before, but these are the remaining IHRA Dubbo meetings for 2022 at the Bodangora airstrip.

Not as far as Gunnedah, but a track I haven't raced at so might be an option if the TDRA don't have somewhere to race.

Yes, I've been meaning to enter that on a few previous occasions, but I'll be interstate this time, so not an option for me. Shame, as I would have liked to have done the whole 'Team Motorcycle Shed' thing...

I'll have to try and get the Bitza250 up and running and get to some of the Nostalgia meetings HPR have scheduled. Finally, nostalgia racing is starting to get some traction (no pun intended) around the place. Bitza250 will fit right in with these guys.

Re Geelong Speed Trials: Entering independently of the Team Motorcycle Shed, I believe it is only about $75 for a single day of 4 runs. All being well, my son is planning to run my little RC162 tribute bike there this year. The Bitza would have fitted in well.

The Barra engine; it's an amazing thing of beauty.

I know they are good (I have one in my ute) but now they have stopped making them.

They're making billet versions of the engine. You can skip all the Holden 308 stuff at the front of this video.

There's a real 'Barra versus LS' thing going on at HPR (and I expect at every other drag strip). I've noticed the cars run pretty hard, so I wasn't too surprised to see the following video appear on YT today. I had a hot HR Holden at one stage of my early driving life, so I was happy to see an automatic (column shift) HR running 8.4sec passes (3:20 mark of the video). There was a VL at WSID that ran a 6.93 @ 204 on small tyres recently; nothing that quick at HPR, but they're sneaking up on it.

I am surprised they are running those sort of times with no cage....

Yes, a bit scary. I think the rules mandate a half cage and a parachute once you reach a certain performance level, but I'm not 100% on that. I definately wouldn't like to hit the wall on the top end without some life protection.

Now that nostalgia meeting does look like a hoot. No wonder it was popular.

I used to own that black slingshot dragster in the photos, still got the same front tyres on it that I put on.
