Bought this today as it was very local and is nearly brand new

I was going to have a custom one built but its next year untill new orders taken at a few I looked into

The guy had this built for going bush with mountain bikes but due to health he cant do it now

Its been very well put together with alot of xtras

Theres awnings both sides with a screen enclosure and a tent that attach to the awnings included

Ill of course add/mod a few things to make it more motorcycle/camping/sleeping friendly

Its 8x5x5 so hopefully me and a 250 can lay in it together :D

I had better look at being able to do some bigger Stickers for the new Hauler.. Is the big one on the back a sticker or painted on?

Its a sticker .... Im going to remove it
the willys jeep came out in 1941 ..... he had a "modern" jeep

This looks to be a good front chock .... it slots into a fixed bracket so u can remove it

    wheel chock.jpg

    https://www.mxstore.com.au/p/Ballards-Wheel-Chock-With-Mount-Kit/72-WCB-55K

Biggest challenge will be making a removable/transportable wide ramp .... theres a "tow bar" on the back so maybe something can be slotted into that
Those single track ones are shite

That chock is apparently only for Adventure / Dirt bikes... probably a bit wide for a Drag bike. Good idea though.
Is that a roller for the roof bars at the back?
If it is then you could use a wide (non folding) Allow ramp and make a mount for it that slots into the tow hitch at the back maybe?
I would also look to see if you can add rear stabiliser legs or get some adjustable caravan type ones.. that way it is nice and stable even if it isnt connected to the car when loading.... nice long drawbar on it.
Maybe grab one or 2 of these too

Old wise heads think alike :fuckyou:

Theres a couple of versions of that chock .... Ill do some measuring first

Yea I said the same to the seller .... make use of the roller and racks for the ramp!

And yes stabilisers were on the list too :)

I was looking at those rear wheel tie downs also :lolsign:

    https://www.mxstore.com.au/p/ACE-Bikes-TYREFIX-Basic-Motorcycle-Tie-Down-System/SS301

Im going to put in a couple of windows for sleeping inside when its closed up but the next little problem to overcome is you cant unlock/open the doors from inside

Should be able to weld/rivet a handle to the inside of those locks.

If they are the same locks we have on our Solar Trailers you actually cant open them from the inside as the handle folds down to be flush.
You could have a couple of lever locks / latches on the inside and just use those when you are parked up and sleeping inside... all other times use the lockable external ones...

Well looking at them today , you can actually turn them from the inside as they are pretty chunky ...
but ..... the outside handle has to be in the up/open position .... which is fine , but if someone or somehow they were closed flat while your in there .... you are in there forever ..... I shouldnt have said that should I ? :D

Yea thats the plan ... on the back door as its the easiest to get in and out and its very light .... Ill just have to see if the external locks can be locked "open"

    This looks promising
Folds up too .... downside is its "heavy" ... 32kg .... the wide one would fit perfectly
Same length/angle as the standard single
I think a solid wide ramp is essential to get bikes on and off so u can just run it up without hesitation
Ill just have to remember to duck with the fixed roof !

De stickered the rear .... wat a tedious PIA that was .... all those little black parts were single little black parts :aggressive:

    More appropriate signage now :D

Im going to try and reposition the struts on the side doors so they open fully at right angles , so that u can open them with the awning/s out

I went to get the drag bike out of the van yesterday and I thought I'd measure it to see how it compares with your new hauler. 8 x 5 x 5 is basically the usable space I have in the back of the van, so your hauler should be fine. Plus you have flat sides, so attaching drop down shelving and even an elevated bed should be pretty easy.

When u get a minute can u measure the distance from the floor of the rear of the van to the ground :thumb_ups:

    It's 615mm.

You should have plenty of room for a fridge and cooker. It's a bit hard to see, but in front of the drag bike are some large storage containers and there's about 200mm between them and the front wheel brace.

Hi fellas, It looks like you both have reasonable setups for your bikes.
My little VW van doesn't have quite the internal space (with all the seats removed).
    It is roughly 2.3 x 1.3 x 1.3.
So I am just resigned to having to tow a trailer as well.
The positive is that I have some reasonable storage, working and sleeping space.

That's a very good setup. I need to find a better bed. That thin piece of foam isn't do my old back any favours!
