Instead of looking at that thread that wants to make me vomit. Maybe we can have one with good bikes. Please don't post the 'Cafe, Bobber, Brat' piles of **** in here. If you do and you say 'I think this one looks okay' then it is fair game for us to say what we really think.
Anyway here is a resto on a Ducati 250 Mach 1

This is the Motus. Made in USA and basically half a pushrod V8. Sadly they went bust. I think too much was spent on extras that weren't needed which made the price too high. For touring the US this is the bike I would choose.

That little Guzzi is an amazingly ambitious engineering marvel

I read that article. As much as the early TD series were a bit clunky, they sorted them very quickly and the later models became the over the counter race bikes of choice all over the world.

Yes, I actually do have a 1958 moto guzzi v8 in the shed, sadly it’s 1/8 th actual size , made of plastic and manufactured by Protar.... the original was bought to Sydney for some parade laps at the broadford bonanza a few years ago..... and guess what....... they couldn’t get it running for long enough to take to the track..... amazing bit of kit,, out powered every other gp bike by Light years but as the great Barry sheen said” to finish first, first you gotta finish” moto guzzi spent so much cash and energy developing the v8 it almost sent the company broke. They retired from gp racing in 1959 and never really recovered. Xcept for a spat of great road bikes in the 70s the modern lineup has been seriously lacking direction.

Yes, I agree with that. Instead of making Cafes with stupid fat tyres they should make a V7 Retro. Play to their strengths.

Now, I do have one of those in the shed,,,, or at least a sneaky replica. Mine is a 1975 850t with v7 sport bodywork and a 77 lemans motor bored out to 900cc.. with 38 mm dellortoes, not quite as pretty on the outside but certainly not lacking in get up n go. Just gotta pull out my finger and repair that leaky rear main seal

Nice, my brother had an 850 Le Mans, bought it new when they were released. As I recall you have to keep the clutch pushrod needle roller washers lubed. That just popped into my head, so I could be imagining things. Well you'll have to drop that gearbox off and get it done. Guzzi's are very reliable and easy to work on, as I recall.

These are my 2 keeper guzzis, both bitzas.. the fairinged one has the first pair of staintune mufflers ever produced, before the company was a registered company.. almost 40 years old and , crashed at least 4 times, and they still polish up like new, amazing Aussie product. (Ignore the dents:)

    Here is a 1968 Mk3 Desmo.
    250Desmo_02.jpg
8500rpm pffft that is not a 250 Desmo Tach, highest rpm I have pulled on a 250 Desmo is 11000 and they were rated for max power at 9500.

    Just right.......................

replica Bimota HB1 frame constructed to allow the fitment of a Suzuki GT750 motor. Detailing is exquisite, even down to installing a modern gel battery inside an empty "period" battery case.

Not really sure if this build should go here but this replica Rickman is absolutely gorgeous... Kudos to the young lady who owns it and built it...
