    Bottle was a bastard to remove .... main harness over one bolt and the other covered by the main fuel line inside the frame ... whats on the other side? ... nothing :commando:

    Has some nice green sludge inside

    Suspension overhaul stage 1

    Shock is going for a rebuild/new spring
    Someone has put in a lowering kit

    Looks to be a pretty crap setup on the linkages .... both sets had wear marks where things dont stay inline ... shite design Triumph :commando:

    Bearings on the stock linkage had no roller cage so the rollers just fell out while trying to clean the solid grease out

    So out they came and new ones ordered ..... bearing shop had to hunt them down as they wernt listed .... a 2008 motorcycle with rare bearings? ... another good one Triumph :headbang:

    Ill have both sets ready to go so if I cant throw my wooden leg over the tail with the stock height I can just lower it again :cool:

    Rear shock is currently at the suspension shop for a grease and oil change :aggressive:

    At least they still had grease in them and were not rusted.

    New bearings in the drag link and stock linkage all greased up and ready for the rear shock , which of course I have to chase up

    So the bike still sits on blocks in the shed .... as the rear shock sits on the bench at the suspension shop

    New part required - 1 bump stop
    Part availability - currently unobtanium :commando:

    So if u cant go riding on a sunny day I guess u fix **** in the sun :idk:

    A grease and oil change for the clutch perch

    It a Kayaba (KYB) shock ... pretty generic and used on a zillion things but maybe Triumph in their wisdom have used a 'rare' one

    He reckons he tried 6 places and theres none about cuz of covid ... :idk:

    All I need now is to find a 'qualified technician' specialising in slinky glides to fit it as per instructions :fuckyou:

    Got back the old shock .. not done but no charge

    Picked up a NOS unit off ebay for $200 ..... list price from Triumph $1410.70
    I win .... :D

    So as can be seen in the pics both sets of linkages have suffered the same way .... the drag link (dog bone) doesnt stay centered inside the link plates .... poor design/setup in my view

    So Im thinking of finding some nylon spacers/washers to sit each side of the dogbone to keep it centered and stop the metal on metal and lateral movement ... plus a little grease to keep the reciprocating motion at max

    Any thoughts on that

    The nylon should work well. Be easy enough to part off from a bar.

    If you cannot get 35mm then get 38mm and I can turn the outside down and bore the inside to required size, then just part off the washers in lathe.
