    Hey guys,

So a while ago I crashed my Across. It's a '93 one, and my first bike. Tried to sell it, but got sick of lowball offers and decided to just make it a streetfighter when I realised it probably wouldn't be too expensive to get going again minus fairings. Plus I'm still a newbie rider and fully expect to crash again at some point.

Anyway, I'm having trouble sourcing a new rear brake pedal. Mine is bent, and I actually replaced it when I got the bike, so I have a pair of bent ones now. They're bent in the opposite direction to each other too, so it feels like at this point they're just taunting me. Ordering one new is $100+ plus shipping, so I really want to avoid that.

Are there any bikes still in production that have a brake lever I can slap onto my bike? Or any aftermarket options that might fit? I've lurked the diagrams on Mick Hone's site, but it seems like ordering from there is still 90+ dollarydoos.

I've contacted a place that does metal 3d printing, and explained I'm looking to print a part for an older bike, and they haven't gotten back to me, but I have a feeling it'll be prohibitively expensive.

Try to get a used one from a wrecker or repair the one you have.
@kiffsta might be able to help

Hey man! Sadly, all the wreckers in my area are out. I know because I personally went and checked the bikes themselves. Managed to score some parts when I was restoring it (the first time) but after me they're pretty much all tapped out.

To be honest fixing them hadn't occured to me. Is there a best way to do it?

Hey man, sadly in my area all the Across' are either tapped out, have already been looted for the "drop parts", or people don't want to part them out. Can get pics if needed, but one doesn't seem too badly bent. Is there a good way to unbend it without snapping it?

this was on my Daytona .... I just put a piece of pipe over the end of the foot pad part and slowly pulled it downwards a bit at a time till it was 'straight' or 'level'

I have 2 spare rear brake pedal assemblies, none are bent or damaged.
I'm located in Ballarat, VIC area.

Thanks man! I'll go and find a pipe and have a go. To be honest though, I'm not super hopeful; I used a magnet to test, and I think they might be aluminium, so I'm worried it'll just snap. Still going to give it a go. I might dash into bunnings and grab a pipe tomorrow.

Usually I'd love to come down and say hi, since I'm in Melb so not far away, but considering the current state of lockdown that might not be the best idea.

How much would you be after for them including postage?

$40 would be fine, its not just the lever, its the whole assembly (with no brake master attached)
getting to post office isnt easy either at this time.
i've actually got a whole bike for wrecking, so most parts are available.

might be able to work something out as far as pickup without contact if you like.
