A few years ago i purchased a non running SRX and another basket case to fix up for my daughter. She wasn't too interested and ended up buying a new XT250. so the little SRX sat in the shed until late last year when I decided to restore it. I found the starter clutch seized and the valves and seats were rusty as the PO had removed the airbox and installed some ghastly pod filters that looked like they came off an air compressor. Many parts have been taken from the basket case to build one bike and after lots of painting, powder coating, polishing and plating I have almost completed the rebuild. I did put a new set of rings in the engine but I used an already worn piston. I have not been able to find o/size ones but I did notice that the TTR250 piston looks like it might work as it seems to be the same size as in crown height and pin size. Anyway here is a pic of it as it stands today. I just need to finish recovering the seat and find some more missing engine case bolts and of course a new set of tyres as the 30 year old ones are not too flash.

Contact @Oigy he has an oversize piston and rings for the SRX...
Nice job on the bike to date... you should be proud of it... lovely to see another one brought back to life.
