    Been wandering again.
Left early (dark O'clock) to attend a bike club get together at Rylstone, NSW. Stayed the night in the Globe hotel and I had heard some Hardly Dangerous's come in late, and next morning when I opened the shed I found they had invaded my space and crowded me in.
    Trip to Bourke 017.jpg
A brief discussion at the breakfast table resulted in them moving one so I could get out and be on my way to Bathurst for a couple of laps of the circuit (as you do when in Bathurst) and a visit to the motorsport museum.
Trip to Bourke 042.jpg Trip to Bourke 044.jpg Trip to Bourke 048.jpg
I was standing on the hill watching that white XS1100 win the Castrol Six Hour races in 1978.
And for those of you who like their bikes green.
    Trip to Bourke 034.jpg
Many more things to see there but I wanted to get back on the road to a special bookshop in Canowindra. After finding the book I wanted and a counter lunch I went on to Wellington for the night. Next day through some back roads to Coonabarabran to check out the Siding Springs observatory and the Warrambungle National park.
Trip to Bourke 146.jpg Trip to Bourke 147.jpg
Next morning I met up with a couple of fellow riders for a run to Coonamble (got a little damp on the way too), Walgett and to Lightening Ridge to have a look at the pretty rocks.
    Trip to Bourke 149.jpg
Back on the bike to Bourke to check on the Darling river and a night at the Kidman Camp accommodation.
    Trip to Bourke 153.jpg
Saturday saw me headed home, battling the cross wind nearly all the way home. With the drought in its fifth year on the western plains there is just no grass to hold the dust down and the wind was blowing up big clouds of it. At one point towards Brewarrina the dust was so thick it was hard to see from one guide post to the next.
    Trip to Bourke 154.jpg
Stopped for a stretch at Gin's Leap near Boggabri. This hill was used in the 1950's movie 'Jedda' where the young aboriginal girl jumped to her death.
    Trip to Bourke 156.jpg
Made it home late afternoon and just rolled the very dirty bike into the shed, 7 days and 2250Km later.

Out with my XL again to help another member with his XL. Took the back dirt roads to Manilla, across to Somerton on the Klori stock route, and back to town past where I grew up.
Half way down the stock route.

I helped my Dad make this mailbox in 1970 during a flood. Glad it is still being used (but has lost it's lid).

The local church has taken on a slight lean to the west since the farmer has taken the hay out of it. Been a long time since anybody has been kneeling in there, but I do remember one night in 1977 when ..... Better stop there.

A 183Km for the day and XL didn't miss a beat.

Packed a few things for the weekend and off Thursday morning. Travelled down the Gwydir highway to Grafton and had a great run with very little traffic and cool temps.

Into the furnace at Grafton, but the Jacaranda trees look nice at this time of year.

Stopped for a rest beside the Clarence River. Hard to accept how much water is running into the ocean when we are in such a bad drought at home.

Crossed the river on the ferry and on to the coast.

A couple of nights with my daughter and kids and Saturday left for a Bike club gathering at Inverell. Had a good run up the Bruxner Highway to Tenterfield and followed a few back roads to Inverell. Dinner at the RSL club and a good nights sleep.
On the road home early so I could watch the Moto GP. 1170Km for the weekend and the CF is still powering along.

Out with the Tamworth VJMC coffee crew today. Must be nice having a group of like-minded people to go and have a coffee and then a decent country ride every week. Plenty of nice bikes and great scenery along the way. Fires in the mountains, so a bit hazey around our lunchtime stop (Bendemere). The little ZZR250 (green bike) was my weapon of choice for the day. Swapped with the MC-14 half way back to Tamworth and enjoyed that immensely.

Went out with two friends today doing out bit for the virus. We had face masks and gloves on and stayed well apart. :lolsign:
Up the dirt roads to Watson's Creek and the long way around to Manilla and home via Attunga. Stopped to 'boil a billy' as there was enough water in the river now to get a drink.

Hi Murdo. Yes some great roads up through the North East of NSW taking you through some beautiful country. It's a bit bumpy in places but I love the Murwillumbah, Uki to Kyogle Rd and then back up the Lions Rd to Rathdowney in Queensland.

I've been off line for a bit, and what an (unfinished) ride it has been.
On the 17th October I packed my CF Moto 650TK and rode to Mudgee, NSW to attend a get together overnight stay with six other members of the Honda ST Owners club (of which I am still a member five years after losing my ST1100) for some good food, lots of laughs, and ale or two and a good old catch-up. Stayed in a motel and Sunday morning left early so I could take it steady on the ride home to Tamworth. I had coffee in Coolah and continued along the black stump way towards Tambah Springs when a Landcruiser trayback pulled out of a farm gate in front of me. After some 'heroics' of the CF I ended up clipping the left rear corner of the alloy tray. I don't remember anything more until waking in John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle on Tuesday morning. The results are 8 broken ribs (some had to be plated), left wrist (also plated), cracked vertebrae, broken nose, a depressed fracture of the right temple and a totally fu**ed bike and riding gear. After two and a half weeks at Newcastle they sent me home in a plane to Tamworth Hospital and have just been released home. Much pain and many morphine pills and I am slowly getting better, but the smack to the head has still a long way to go before I will be right. Cannot see me back on a bike this year.
Many friends and family have all come to help and I have been surprised at how well I was looked after in both hospitals.
    Black Stump Way, Saturday.

Good to see you back online Steve...Take your time with the recovery... physio helps the moving parts (hurts like hell though) but the thinking part needs plenty of rest too..
Bikes and riding gear are easy to replace... glad the operator is still in one piece... mostly :)
I has been an "interesting" year... thats for sure.

It was an extremely close call, and I am very thankful to be still here. Going to be quite a while before I can ride/drive again and think clearly.
I aint gunna fix this one!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Wondered why you went quiet on the forum , and after what's happened to you glad that your still with us. All body part's are still intact , well kind of , nothing that plates and screw's cant hold together.
Sound's like the hospital booked you in for a full service and rebuild.
Sad to see the bike damaged though , that suck's.
