Very interesting, good find. So his conclusion works about about the same plenum volume as the standard airbox, even with the forced induction.

That is an awesome piece of work... I know the dramas involved in producing the 3D Cad drawing and then creating the negative to be able to do the CFD runs... and the variables involved in doing those runs... I spent a good part of 12 months re-designing a 48" Vertical pump to provide cooling water for the Power station at a Gold Mine in Indonesia.. the aim was to provide a 10% increase in flow but keep the power the same.. 1400HP 3.3KV Electric motors. Just the time involved in cleaning up the Cad drawings to be able to get all the transitions correct to produce the negative 3D render... then add it into the CFD program took weeks. I was never good enough on Cad to even go close to being able to do the work.. lucky I had a couple of really good draughtsmen on the job.. but it was fun sitting up half the night running the CFD.... I should try to find some of the pics I still have from that previous life...

Just as an addition to my post above.... these are a couple of gifs and a pic of the re-designed impeller ( in Super Duplex Stainless steel) and the gifs are from the CFd runs showing pressure and flow gradients... this stuff really works your grey cells but it is very satisfying when the design produces almost identical figures in real life as the CFD results... The manifold design etc is far more interesting than a big mother of a pump but it is all mind blowing what can be done these days... Gifs were too large to post... so still stills show the info almost as well.

The AMR500 SC are about $50 cheaper too Only thing with the AMR SC's is they don't like going over 11,000rpm that much
