Got my wheels back from the powdercoaters and what a great job they did on them! Tyres should be here next week and then once I paint the brake calipers it's ready for its maiden voyage . So excited .

Also got all the new parts I needed like a new speedo dampener , mirror dampers , tailight dampers , new genuine key , original c spanner , footpegs and a few other thing.

Dunlop alpha 14s as it's one of the only tyres available .

Got them fitted and balanced today and back on the bike

Back on the ground for the 1st time since it was stripped . All that's left now is to paint the calipers and fairings and she's done!

You will enjoy the alpha 14's

They are a good sticky tyre, and the warmer you get them, the better they feel, the more confidence you get. Not bad in the wet either but I never pushed them hard on my c model in the wet.

Downside is that if you are commuting + weekend riding you will wear them out in a few months. The fronts lasted 6 months before they were scalloped on the right side from road camber, and also starting to dry rot... but mine lived outside all of its life.

Oh yeah they're great tyres . Mate has them on his zxr aswell. I agree they do wear fast . Being on ls we didnt ride it through the twisted frequently and after 2 thousand kms noticed the rear flattening out

Sorry, just change the address to 14060R-18. Or see the other options like 14060-18, 14070-18, etc.

I put a set of Dunlop Alphas on my little track bike (MC22). Purchased from Race Centre in Melbourne (great blokes) for $385 fitted and balanced (back in July 2017). I have probably done 8 - 10 track days on them. Really good feel and I do not currently run tyre warmers. Others (better riders) who have ridden my bike, have commented on the good level of grip and confidence that the Dunlops provide.

Probably still a few more track days left in them.

The better tyre is the Pirelli Super Corsa, but they are quite a bit more expensive.

Soo my original calipers have a decent amount of corrosion in them and I'm still not certain of using them . I managed to get a set of zxr400(early)/zxr750(early) brake calipers, master cylinder, distribution block and lines. Now I know it's not original but it's period correct and should give it some decent stopping power . With a simple bracket made they bolt right up

Great work Tony, but they are going to need a bit of detailing to match the rest of that pristine machine.

Long time no updates . Few things have happened lately . First of all, my beloved gpx has been sold . d577e3f3349e43933ab4dc49cc4de422.jpg

I've painted my zxr400/750 brake upgrade for the A model f4fa16d8eb8eee2fec681591caff98b1.jpg

And then the biggest thing of all I acquired another C model (this time with an undamaged frame!) So the other C gave it's engine to this one . Looks like some money was spent on it aswell . New rear shock, fuel tap , air tubes. (It also came with an engine with the top end off because they must've thought the engine was blown even thought it was the igntion module lol. It's now got a running engine in it and the fairings are being repaired so this can be a bit of a thrasher for me to ride around

Should look pretty decent when it's done!

Got the bolts back from the zinc platers . Loosely assembled the calipers just to see what they look like . Just need pistons now....

Looking good, are you going to coat all the newly plated part's so they don't fade quickly ?
Have a look at KBS Diamond Coat clear, it stick's to bare metal's really well
You can get it in an aerosol and spray some into a small tin then brush touch all the plated part's and the shine will last for many year's.
If you buy it in a normal tin, when you've used some the air in the tin will make the clear go hard

    Looks good Tony.

Also, maybe delete that pic you posted recently about the Chief's shiny ZXR exhaust etc. The pic has your personal details in it.
