alright i don't know how many of you have heard of this, but there's a very simple CDI mod you can do to your gt250r which basically unrestricts the cdi

all you have to do is take off the seats, take the bolt off the cdi to access the wires, then cut the BLUE and GREEN wire going into the BROWN plug on the cdi.

i've just done it this morning and straight away could notice the throttle was much, much more responsive. the power gain isn't much when you're riding around but it's definitely worth doing and only takes a few minutes.

as far as i know this only works on non-EFI GT250R models from 2005 to 2008.

do not attempt this on a 2009-2015 model as it's hardwired to the cdi and you'll end up cutting the wire for something important.
the wiring to the CDI is different on the 2004 model. i don't know which wire you'd have to cut, but it's likely doable.

definitely helped a bit on mine, i'd say it's worth a try. worst case scenario you just solder it back together and it's all good

Or you could just unplug the brown plug from the cdi and get the same result. This way the mod is reversible for if you want to sell the bike
