Those needles look ok .... the tubes u have to look for 'grooves' inside Keyster replacements dont have any markings on them Worn needles Lots of discussion here ... https://www.2fiftycc.com/index.php?...-tubes-fzr250-mikuni-bdst28-carurettors.9023/ Needle clip should be in the centre groove I use one of these to look for wear and also good for reading jet sizes ....
Thanks Mr. Grey. The tubes have N8 638 stamped on them so I'm assuming they are the original. I think I can see some lines (grooves) running up and down the inside of a couple of the tubes (or maybe I'm imagining it)..
Good photos of the emulsion tubes. I can only see a small mark on one of them so they should be okay. If they were worn then you would expect corresponding wear on the needles unless they were recently replaced. If you do decide to replace them then please send the old ones to me (I will resleeve them) if you do not want them. I will pay for your post. Cheers Blair
Have you checked that there's not a 97.5 main jet in carb 4 ? And i wonder why they have the needle clip on the richest position ? Are the mixture screw's 3 turn's out And have you checked the fuel level's ?
The needle and emulsion tube picture back a page, are they not in the carby ? The needle's are the correct needle's for the 3LN3 / 3LN5 carby's, 2x 5CT7's and 2x 5CT9's, they look to be in very good condition too ? If you have Y471 and Y472's in the carby's now can you take a picture side by side comparing them to the 5CT7's and 5CT9's Did you find out what brand the carby kit's are ?
Thanks my67xr. Yeah the main jets in it at the moment are #100 / #97.5 / #100 / #100. Mixture screws are three turns out.. The needles and tubes pictured were the original parts that were taken out of the carbies when it was rebuilt. They look pretty good now, so I'm going to put them back in and see how I get on. I will also take some comparison snapshots of the needles side by side before I do that. I'm thinking that the tubes and needles (Y471 / Y472) are close to the stock items, but not close enough to run with the standard clip settings on the needles (hence having to have them on the lowest clip position). Yet to confirm the make of the carby rebuild kit, but I've been assured it's not Keyster. Once I get the main jets / tubes / needles back to stock, I'll check the fuel levels. Thanks again!
Stock setup is always the way to start then troubleshoot from there Are the intake manifolds and airbox rubbers in good shape? ... the diaphragms in the carbys ok? Make sure this oring is in place as its easy to miss it or have it drop out And has the pilot merge chamber bung been removed and cleaned out and new oring?
New batwing fairings and front cowling arrived today! $400 from ebay. These, combined with the new windscreen and some Marlboro livery should look great!
New windscreen from Eagle Screens, and new fairings from mayfly-motocycle on ebay. The parts fitted onto the bike nicely with a bit of a tweak to get the screen to match up with the fairing and the mirrors. Only the front guard to sand and paint now..
No - the rubber came from Bunnings. 5M length.. They have a few different types. Some round edge, some square edge.. The round edge looks heaps better.
I have used this stuff before on my car, it fit onto 4mm thick tailgate glass, pretty sure most auto paint shop's sell it in black too https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1ft-30c...123635?hash=item287e53f673:g:qgkAAOSw3jpc74WH Might be this stuff ? it was sticky inside https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/5M-U-Sh...131565&hash=item3620d475ed:g:lGgAAOSwWjpZr9n3
Hi guys. Appreciate some advice on my FZR's cooling system... Has anyone had a radiator recored? From what I can gather, there are two sensors. One is a 'thermo-switch' (3LN-82560-01) which turns the fan on and off, and the other is a 'thermo-unit' (11H-83591-00-00) which is the sender for the temperature gauge. Am I correct there? Has anyone come across any good aftermarket radiator hoses? Appreciate the help. Cheers.
Yes the 2x switch's are located on the thermostat housing, fan switch is on the top left @x wire's), temp gauge sender unit is just below it (1 wire) Make sure you have a good earth for the thermostat housing too With the radiator has your core rotted or been damaged ? It shouldn't be too hard to find another good radiator secondhand Not sure if it can be re-cored, depend's on whether the radiator shop has something suitable that'll fit FZR250R Litetek silicon hose kit's https://www.2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/silicone-hose-kits.10118/#post-125021 .
As well as the hose kits, I will have full silicone coolant o-ring kits for the FZR's in a few weeks. Similar to these Honda kits
FYI these Chinese kits are for #3ln3/5 ... the 6/7 has a shoulder on the emulsion tube: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/114193337803 (but the gurus here all knew that already!)
