Discussion Riveter Blindnut/ Nutsert Kit

    Just another likely addition to the 'workshop of the century' and a bit of info for anyone interested

    I like the look of this one .... no idea where the Kinchrome stuff is really made but I assume its a step up from the cheap china stuff ... ?

    I can see a few uses for these apart from on the bikes ..... but I want to do things like put stand bobbins on the flyer .... using the paddock stand with the angled plates usually means one side cutting into the muffler or the other side catching on the rear sprocket when positioned on the swingarm

    Curse you, I thought I'd overcome my tool fetish - 7 drills both battery and mains powered was a sure sign that something was amiss and that I was desperately in need of some restraint...

    I have one of these, a smaller pop rivet style one which will not do steel because I don't have the forearms of "The Rock" to close the damn thing

    Have you done any Steel ones as I'm interested to know how difficult they are to fit

    I like the look at the drill attachment.. its a bit cheaper and does steel and SS as well as Aluminium.. its limited in size but would do everything I would want.. hmmm, not sure if they have metric mandrels though.

    @ruckusman ... Yea that was my thoughts with the 2 handed/ push together method might make it easier than a one handed normal rivet gun type

    Illl post up some test runs when I get off the lounge and go to Bunnings to buy the thing ... should be cool enough around June :D

    I've probably got that many sockets also, distributed in sets all over the place, nowhere that complete though and I've still got my favourite 10mm spanner from 37 years ago and it's still the goto tool

    The drill attachment looks to be the equivalent of the small rivet gun type tool which I have as it tops out at the same size, probably because of the upper limit on the potential torque

    Practice run .... nice solid bit of kit and simple to use ... takes a bit of grunt to compress the handles but easy enough

    That's good for a steel one, I would attempt anything that size and material with the tool I have, which I believe tops out at 5mm anyway
