I have a Warren and Brown 3200 1/4 drive 10-180 in/lb's, and an older model Sidchrome 1/2 Torque wrench
I used to have a cheap $20 1/2 torque wrench about 30 year's ago, it was as accurate as my Sidchrome one between 20 ft/lb's and 110 ft/lb's

I haven’t purchased it yet bu I really need a small Torque Wrench and while I would love one of the new Warren & Brown digital units they are too dear for my casual use.
While not cheap this Teng Tools item looks to be pretty good. Does anyone have experience with this brand?

    Bunnings has a 3/8" Kincrome for $98 - wider range 5-80 foot/pounds

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/kincrome-3-8-drive-torque-wrench_p6100366

I used the above as well as an old skool Warren Brown unit to rebuild the engine on Mum's Barina - it's still intact and I have redlined it a couple of times

Super cheap has the toolpro ones on special

    3/8" 15-80 foot/pounds -$67.40
    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p.../214304.html#q=torque+wrench&segment=1&page=1

    and 1/4" 40-250 inch/pounds which is a tiny 3.3 - 20.8 foot/pounds
    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p.../214303.html#q=torque+wrench&segment=1&page=1

I'm wondering if I should grab the 1/4" one for small stuff which risks stripping threads if it's overdone

I have my 35 year old 1/2 " drive Sidchrome unit for the larger stuff.. I must have used it on 15 plus engines in that time from 1200cc 4 banger up to a 400HP 350 Chevy and never had an issue with it...
I did look at the ToolPro units at Supercheap about an hour ago while I was shopping for something else.. what I like about the Teng is that is also has the degrees on it for when you need to tighten to a set torque and then another "X" degrees.
Then there is the ToolPro Torque adapter which is digital.. but I am not too sure on if I would like using it..

Does anyone know if using adapters (like 3/8th to 1/2 ) on a torque wrench affects the accuracy of the setting being used.

Makes no difference nor does using regular extensions (not sure about the wobble extensions though)

Thought if using the cheap crap adaptors it would .
Have seen some cheap adaptors been twisted out of shape.
If it was me , I'd use some high quality adaptors , then nothing to worry about.
But Linkin does this for a living , swinging on tools .

    Sounds good then
I have my old trusty W&B but I want something a little more modern and user friendly , especially for the smaller stuff
There is only 1 1/2in drive that has a full 5-100Nm range and thats a Norbar and is silly money

Ill just buy 2 , with a few extra sockets and adapters thrown in for good measure :D

I have a Snapon 3/8" micrometer jobbie with a large range. Must be over 40 years old but still as good as the day it was new. Hasn't been used in trade, only backyard stuff. I don't know what it's equivilent is now or price but I suspect there are cheaper options that are just as good. Just be careful to buy a genuine article whatever you choose and not an ebay knock off, ie. not a $20 tool with a $200 brand

I not guessing torque settings, some experienced people know by feel. I use Newton-Metres as my reference. Torque wrenches need to be quality tools.

I started with a Sykes-Pickavant 3/8 drive with range of 8 - 60 Nm. Made in UK , about $350 comes with calibration certificate. Great range for working on motorbikes. Great little window for dialing in your torque setting.
    20220806_201541.jpg Screenshot_20220806-202120_Gallery.jpg

For higher range i bought a high end Repco also made in the UK, 1/2 drive with range of 40Nm to 200Nm. $280. Perfect for wheel nuts, swing arm bolts etc.

    20220806_201744.jpg

I didnt think i need a smaller one until i did the Samco radiator hoses on my ZX10R and it said 3-5Nm for radiator hose clamps, guessing how tight bugged me, so i grabbed a Toledo 1/4 drive with a range of 2-24Nm, paid $120. Got those Radiator hoses perfect, great peace of mind. Not sure on the quality of that one, happy for one you guys to tell me its rubbish.

I can't remember what my brand of torque spanner I had , but it was like your Toledo as per picture.
My Torque spanner was a pile of junk , it was so far out of calibration it wasn't funny , and it had done no work as such , it was like brand new.
Threw it to the tip where it belongs.
Warren and Brown tools for me.
