Hi all, I have just got myself a 82' CB250rs and am loving riding it (1st bike)! I have noticed a few electrical issues and I was hoping someone here could give me some tips or direction as to what I can do from here: - My standard headlight is very dull (replaced bulb but theres no difference) - When I put my high-beam light on, my indicators don't work! - My high-beam light is brighter when revving and much more dull when I brake. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks, Cam
Welcome to the forum buddy!, I don't know allot about the bike but sounds to me like a dead battery. I know the Rs has a kickstart so you may not realize how low the battery actually is!
Hiya Cam, I have three of these - one that actually runs and another I'm hoping to get running again soon. The workshop manual is avaliable on this site for premium members, which only costs you $5. I'm working through some electrical faults with the running one right now. First thing I'd be looking at in your case is the charging system. How old is the battery? Does it hold a charge? Have you checked the water/electrolyte level? You might also have a faulty stator or a wiring fault.
Damn, forgot to mention the rectifier! That's the other main part of the charging system though so definitely another possibility.

Having just got a cb250rsa I'm having same issues but when testing with a voltmeter it reads a constant 12.43v at all times !!! 3000rpm no change turned all lights on no change again
Sounds like a battery fault. Does the battery hold charge overnight or for at least a couple of days when the bike isn't running?
