Hi all, Just recently purchased this 2000 bandit 250 needing a bit of TLC hope to share knowledge with all you 250 fans on here.
Thanks, I have just started to work on it as just purchased the bike. It does need a bit of attention. Starter clutch not working, sometimes running on 3 cylinders, fork seals need replaced etc but is in goid condition otherwise. Anyone else restored/rebuilt a bandit?
Lovely little bike, I'm presently shoehorning an SV 650 into one of these frames, very challenging project, but that's what I love. Check out the job on non 250 projects. I'm getting all sorts of funny critics on this job, all the the more incentive to make sure it comes together.
Welcome mate, awesome looking bike grats on your new purchase! I love Bandits ! Here's my 1990 GJ74A 20K Rpm Bandit that I've rebuilt the carbs on more times than I care to remember. Although, it's been pretty reliable lately.
You guys have great looking bikes, and I hope mine will resemble yours eventually. I have really gotten into the wee Bandits, but I have as yet found anyone around me that knows anything about them. Can't find any for sale, none at the wreckers, and parts lists here don't exist. My bike has parts from Germany, Russia, Australia, China, and the orient. It's been a challenge, but once running and a short ride on it, the fire was lit. I haven't done anything with it lately because my time has been taken up with other priorities, but I'm due to get back to it. It is a crazy little bike, and a rush to ride.
