Adelaide DragRace Promotions Air has another Sunday Funday coming up this weekend Entry cost to race: $50 (per bike inc rider) Spectator & Crew entry: $25 Gates Open: 8:30am Racing Starts: 10:30am till 4:30pm
Man, I'd love to come over. That picture promoting the day...if memory serves me correctly, he ended up flipping the bike over the front bars at the end of the burnout. A little too much front brake after an out of shape burnout. I think that guy is actually the Modified champion from last year.
I used to race my XR Fairmont for a bit of fun out at AIR in the late 80's early 90's Then it closed down for year's. So all i'd need to do to my bike is a catch can for the coolant ? These pic's are from the comp meet March 24 This guy i used to see at every street meet racing his bike back in the late 80's early 90's, look's like he's still racing now That little 2 stroke goes hard and he still has that same race suit 27 year's later ! Apparently a friend flipped his Kawasaki too, was his first time out without wheelie bar's i think, not sure why he wasn't running them though Guy in the background here Old picture, his bike used to be yellow before this paint job
Im terrified if I go to a meet Ill get hooked again...the last bout was expensive but huge fun....plus Im decades older now and no longer bounce
I'll try and go, i just want to see what my bike run's down the quarter, might get close to @Murdo 's 9.65 1/8 (15.05 1/4) ? I don't know how the weather is looking for sunday ? @Wozza, it's just like going down the expressway minus the speed limit's
Yep, I've seen this guy too. I hope the day is a huge success and they schedule another one. I haven't been to AIR since back when Bob owned it.
and minus the muppet's texting .... besides I need a longer road hmmm wonder if the RAAF or parrafield will let me onto the main runway ...love to do the salt lakes but thats a road to far for this little black duck....
Nah, i'm broke atm. i put my car on classic/historic club rego 2 week's ago so would have had money if it wasn't for that Hopefully next month they'll have the same $50 deal so i'll put some money away for it
Looks like AIR have monthly test&tune meets, so hopefully they do the $50 bike fee again. HPR is $60 for bikes, so too easy (unless it's super crowded like yesterday!).
Found out tonight that the RD350 owner has been racing that bike for close on 40 year's now. Slowly getting his time's down
That's great. It's one of the few motorsports where you can keep competing well into your retirement years. And, you don't have to be on a strict diet and spend time at the gym (unless you want to)!
Well, that is for 2 days. You can test and tune all day Saturday and qualify and race on Sunday. Not too bad really!
Just messaged Adelaide DragRace Promotion's asking for the entry price of a street bike for the 20th May Sunday Funday meet. I entered my detail's into the entry form, but it come's up at $100 +$3.75 Merchant Fee
