Thought I'll share my latest little tweak for the 250cc VLC Intruder

Wanted to fit a nice retro style sissy bar - nothing on the market for this bike, so I decided to make up a pair of struts mounts I can weld the sissy on once I bent the steel to shape

Came up really nice and follow the struts plastic chrome cover perfectly - I think this bike will look awesome once the sissy goes into place :)

btw. theres some protective film on these mirror finished stainless steel brackets - once the sissy goes on, it will all be polished up (or simply painted black)

Just a heads up on the sissy project Im helping out my son with....
Sissy progress: Shaped the sissy today (looking good) will drop some 30-50mm towards the rear fender once done - Creation of the jig went as per plan and measurements is spot on - this bike (regardless of its small size) will look really good once done 1f917.png 1f917.png 1f917.png - once in place I going to knock up a carrier rack that going to be welded on (double as sissy support bracket and pack rack) + currently working out the design on the rack

Need to trim down the struts brackets somewhat - then cut the bar centered, slide it over the struts mount and weld it into place - once done we will shape the pack rack (havent made up our minds if its going to be fancy or just dirty - regardless it WILL(!) be usable where Im planning to use the fender center bolt to lock it into place

Today me and my son more or less finalized the sissy for his bike - just need to polishing (stainless steel throughout) and is in my liking (my son likes it to though - even though I offered design ideas) - serious polishing the stainless to a mirror finish remains, then its just bolt on and go... 1f917.png IMG_8547.JPG IMG_8551 - 25%.jpg

Sissy bar project more or less complete and back on the bike
    - A good exercise and some interesting things tried along the way - such as IIRC (Stainless steel Electrolysis to get rid of weld black/yellow/blue spots) - came up a treat 1f642.png

Final little tweak is to mount new slim line indicators on the sissy (that would require some welding (again) *with final polishing 1f642.png :) - my son is getting excited, but not overly thrilled with the polishing - but overall good fun with an excellent result - That bike look totally different with the new sissy though IMG_8629.JPG IMG_8630.JPG IMG_8632.JPG IMG_8633.JPG
