What's the Willowbank calendar doing on here?....

But I did notice July 21 is all bike meet.... Or there's a few "race ya mates" events.

That's great that they have them too. Maybe, one day, @Murdo and the Tamworth crew might venture North and join in the fun on a 1/4 mile strip. It's a 6 hour drive from Tamworth to Willowbank, but the Murdomobile would certainly make the adventure/trip far more pleasurable. It's only a 5 hour drive from Tamworth to WSID for one of their bike nights. I'm not sure either Willowbank or WSID events are actually "races" where you have a trophy for the winner etc, so might just be running your bike against your mates etc.

I did speak to the owner of Heathcote Park Dragway about hiring the track and putting on a "bikes only" event. 3 classes, under 300cc, over 300cc and 2-stroke. He mentioned $5,000 would be about the number he'd be okay with. 50 entries at $100 per entry would cover the track hire and half the gate takings would go back to the racers, so you could put a couple of trophies and some money up for grabs. I was going to contact Club250 down here to see what they think of the idea. @Murdo, do you remember how much it costs to hire the Gunnedah Airstrip?

I contacted Willowbank about the all bike event, it has been postponed. A date will be announced after winter nationals.

Re Gunnedah; when I was club secretary it was a bit over $2000 for the weekend use of the airport. Add the Sport and Rec and ANDRA permits and the medical people fee and it soon adds up.
